  •  Direct Coil heating system’s trouble-free technology self-cleans for increased limescale resistance and provides fast heat-up and response
  •  Electronic self-modulation technology ensures the least amount of electricity needed is used
  •  DHC Trend models have no screen or external temperature adjustment to limit user tampering
  •  Sleek European design is considerably smaller than a tank, requires no venting, and allows space-saving installation close to the point-of-use
  •  Ideal applications include bathrooms, break rooms, utility sinks, including a shower in suitable warm climates
  •  Switchable kW power output means each model can cover more applications
  •  Direct Coil models should not be used with a water supply from a salt-regenerated water softener
  •  Heats water on demand, for endless hot water as long as it is needed, but model size must be carefully matched to the application for proper operation

Continued technological innovation from the World Leader

Stiebel Eltron's robust Direct Coil Heating System

Welcome to the latest water heating technology revolution from Stiebel Eltron.

Our newest models, DHC Trend, DHC-E Trend, and DHC-E Plus incorporate our Direct Coil heating technology, Stiebel Eltron’s most advanced technology. This technology has been proven worldwide for a while now, including in our Mini water heaters for handwashing applications. Our Direct Coil heating technology has proven to be an exceptionally low-failure technology, with exceptional added benefits.

The robust and trouble-free Direct Coil heating system is self-cleaning for superior limescale resistance, with the added benefit of faster heat-up time, lower latent heat retention, and more.

Switchable power output for maximum flexibility

Expanding on the innovation of our DHC-E 8/10, well-received by the trade, the entire line of new DHC Trend models are switchable at installation to one of two powers outputs. This provides extraordinary flexibility for an installation while simplifying the model lineup. Switching is as simple as just changing a jumper.

Most powerful point-of-use tankless

Stiebel Eltron now offers the largest point-of-use model available, the DHC 12/15-2 Trend. With 12 or 14.4 kW of power, the new DHC Trend can spec more jobs than ever before.

The best technology

In addition to the extra benefits detailed above, the new Direct Coil models continue the benefits that are part of the entire Stiebel Eltron electric tankless line. Ideal for both residential and commercial point-of-use sink applications, these new Direct Coil models heat water endlessly on demand at 99% efficiency. They have no stand-by energy losses because they do not store hot water like tank water heaters. No venting is required and the compact European design can be installed with the unit visible. Microprocessor control, flow sensor, and our newly patented air detection system completely eliminate dry-fire. And of course these new models have a safety high-limit with a manual control. Activation rate for all new Direct Coil models is a low 0.264 GPM.

Simple, trouble-free reliability

Intended for trouble-free installation and without user tampering, DHC Trend models have no screen or temperature adjustment. They are sized by choosing the correct power output for the particular flow rate and temperature rise needed for an installation. During installation, an internal jumper offers 4 selectable output temperatures.

Sizing Guide Map

While DHC Trend models excel at supplying water at the desired constant temperature, the amount of hot water and its temperature depends on the incoming cold-water temperature and the size of the model installed. The correct model size should be chosen by using our Sizing Guide. As always our renowned technical support department is available for advice.

Stiebel Eltron invented electric tankless water heating almost 100 years ago, and is still the industry pioneer and world leader, with an engineering and manufacturing tradition of excellence.
