Audi Plant - San José Chiapa, Mexico
Audi, one of the world's most renowned luxury car manufacturers, announced in September 2012 the construction of its first assembly plant in North American territory, located in San José Chiapa, in the state of Puebla, Mexico. The plant would be the twelfth of its kind for the brand worldwide.
Considered the most modern of all Audi assembly plants, it was inaugurated on September 30, 2016, with the primary objective of producing the Audi Q5 model for the global market. Occupying an area of 400 hectares, the plant initially employed 3,300 people and has the capacity to assemble 150,000 vehicles per year.
With that intention, 304 water heaters (SHC 2.5, SH 15 SLi, DHE 27 SLi, and DHC 8-2) and 14 heating systems (CON 10 S and CON 30 S) manufactured by Stiebel Eltron were acquired. Stiebel Eltron is at the forefront of developing devices for water heating, heating, ventilation, and other sectors.
[missing water heater SHC 2.5 image aligned left] The SHC 2.5 is an electric system with a small tank that, due to its compact size and innovative design, can be installed near the point of use. Ideal for commercial applications such as factories, office buildings, gas stations, schools, hotels, shopping centers, and stores, it is highly efficient. Its insulation material reduces energy loss while idle, especially when compared to larger systems. A total of 291 units of this successful product were installed.
The SH 15 SLi is a 15-liter water heater with an adjustable temperature range from 35 to 82 degrees Celsius. A total of nine units of this device were installed.
The tankless electric water heater DHE 27 SLi is an intelligent electronic control unit that precisely maintains the required temperature and saves up to 30% of water and energy compared to hydraulically regulated instant water heaters.
Using the multifunctional display, the required temperature can be precisely selected to the last degree, along with all other comfort functions. Two units were installed.
The DHC 8-2 water heater, from the DHC series, is a highly efficient unit capable of heating an entire home. It heats water instantly as it flows through the device, completely eliminating water waste while waiting for it to heat up. The DHC 8-2 also offers anti-scald protection and unlimited hot water. Two units were installed.
[missing CON 10 S model align left] [text and image in grey text box] The CON 10 S and 30 S heaters turn on when the ambient temperature where they are installed begins to cool excessively. The temperature controller can be set between 0 and 30 degrees Celsius. These systems are not only highly reliable and of high quality, but also capable of achieving significant energy savings. Especially quiet, they are also easy to install. The Audi plant acquired 13 CON 10 S units and one CON 30 S unit.
